Connection between the symbol

In a group of three we talked about the relation between "The Catcher" , "Baseball Mitt" , and "The Mummies". we discussed about how baseball mitt was related to Holden's brother's death, and how he fight with Stradlater for his brother. we also talked about the "love to innocence", "rejection to adult hood", "how he was jealous". how Holden always took care of his   younger sister by taking her to carousel, and how they both were best fiends.
